Tuesday Ten

I'm thankful to the Lord:

1. That seeking to please Him makes us happy. I see this most clearly in watching little children.

2. That obedience, even in the smallest measure, conquers fear. As Calvin says, "...the eyes of God will always be attentive to guard those who shall be attentive to his instructions."

3. That my mom's outpatient knee surgery went so well.

4. For routines

5. For two very special letters: one with hand-drawn sketches from a gifted artist; the other tucked in an offering envelope with my name laboriously printed on it by one of my favorite 5-year-olds.

6. For the new families in our Sunday School class

7. For an unsolicited editing assignment that is both profitable and enjoyable

8. That we didn't have to pay taxes on the income from selling our car

9. For the rain

10. That all of Creation will be made perfect one day, the Curse reversed -- and quite possibly our pets will be included in that, joining us in our eternal home, the new Heaven and Earth. (John Piper makes this case.)
