A Powerful Greeting Card
One last thing on Angie: John was talking to a friend of his, a new believer who had just moved away from Florida. Our friend was struggling with the idea of suffering (how can God be good and yet allow suffering.) In the course of the discussion, John thought about using Angie as an example of someone who praised God throughout her ordeal. ("Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there re no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior." Habakkuk 3:17-18) He started out by saying, "You don't know this woman, but her name is Angie Hunt..." Before he could go any further, Peter stopped him and said, "I know of an Angie Hunt. Someone with that name sent us a card when we had our baby back in June." John said, "Well, you need to know that she sent you that card from the hospital." What an encouragement to see how God uses the little things in big ways, at just the right moment. Pray for Peter, that he will grasp that God is FOR him, not out to get him. And praise God for using Angie's card to make His point so very clear.
